She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW). With over 7 years of experience working within the mental health field, she has had the opportunity to engage in grassroots work, both within her community and internationally. This work has led her to develop a special interest in working in women’s health, specifically working with women who have experienced sexual trauma and gender-based violence.

This is one of my favourite quotes and I think speaks beautifully to what I have learned doing this work. Human beings all experience so much pain, suffering, hardship, and adversity, yet also, are able to experience deep love, passion, hope and strength, sometimes even experiencing both oppositions at the same time, simultaneously. This work continues to reinforce how resilient humans are, despite each and every one of us experiencing adversity and it is incredibly admirable.

Life’s path is not always straightforward and navigating it can be overwhelming. Sometimes the way we relate to our thoughts, parts of ourselves, others, or our pasts can lead us to feeling stuck in life, out of control, and acting in ways that remove us from the connections and activities that give our lives meaning.

Brandon uses different approaches, or an integration of them, to best accommodate your needs and therapeutic goals: exploring your past experiences, relationships with others and yourself, and building skills which will aid you in healing and achieving your goals.

Sometimes we can feel stuck in patterns which feel beyond our control. We react and feel discouraged by circumstances we repeatedly find ourselves in and it seems there is nothing that works, nothing gets better, no one understands.

I utilize a trauma-informed, long-term perspective using methodologies such as Schema therapy to uncover the root causes that perpetuate damaging patterns. Sessions look at embracing challenges as opportunities for learning while understanding the factors that have contributed to our behavior, challenging unhelpful beliefs, and committing to change.

Sessions are a space for reflection and learning, of reconciling the past with the present and choosing directions that work for you, the client.

At times, clients may encounter a profound sense of overwhelm when embarking on the journey of therapy. In this moment of uncertainty, doubts may arise regarding the potential effectiveness of therapy and whether it will truly bring the desired help. Furthermore, there is often an internal pressure to possess a level of progress far beyond their current state, as if they need to have already accomplished significant steps before even starting. Consequently, the path ahead may seem obscured, making it challenging to envision a clear way forward. It’s important to remember that these feelings are common and acknowledging them can be a significant step towards finding the support and guidance needed to navigate the therapeutic process.

It takes courage and bravery to sit across from an individual and be vulnerable and hope that the ground beneath us doesn’t crumble. I strive to carry hope for my clients and provide a safe, empathetic, warm, anti-oppressive space where clients can be themselves whilst feeling held throughout the therapeutic process. We are unique blueprints of our ancestors, our past and carry deep unique intersectional identities. We can also carry deep wounding from our ancestors, our past and in our attachment relationships that hinder our ability to accept ourselves and have meaningful deep relationships with others.

My goal is to empower clients to explore and embrace their unique identity and sense of self in order to have deep meaningful relationships with others and live a life of joy and fulfillment.

It is a deep privilege to be a part of your journey of self-exploration as we work together to process, heal and create change. I utilize an Attachment-based, Emotionally Focused, Trauma-Informed, Intergenerational Family Systems approach throughout the therapeutic process to accommodate each clients unique experiences and needs. In addition to this, I draw from Mindfulness-Based, Inner-Child, Compassion Focused techniques to further support clients in their journey.

I truly believe that each individual has a beautiful unique sense of self and that we are a part of a system of connections that exists in relation to others across time and generations.

Beginning therapy can often feel like an overwhelming journey. Many clients share feelings of uncertainty about whether therapy will truly help them. They may feel pressured to have it all figured out before starting or believe they need to be ten steps ahead of where they are in life.

As a therapist, I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their feelings and experiences at their own pace. My therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered therapy, which emphasizes empathy, active listening, and unconditional positive regard. This means that I prioritize your needs and ensure that therapy is tailored to your individual goals. Together, we will uncover your strengths, navigate through your challenges, and help you take meaningful steps toward the life you envision.

My role is to walk alongside you, offering support, guidance, and tools to help you move forward, even when the path feels uncertain. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and each step, no matter how small, is a step toward healing and growth. In our time together, you can expect a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment or pressure to be anything other than who you truly are.

Having personally navigated the experience of immigration, I understand the emotional toll of adjusting to new cultures and identities. With a deep understanding of the challenges that can arise from navigating multiple cultures, I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where clients feel understood. I approach each client as a whole person, respecting their unique experiences and cultural background, while supporting them in discovering their own strengths and resources for healing.

Whether you are struggling with the weight of past experiences, navigating through different stressors, processing difficult emotional experiences, adjusting to life in a new country, or simply seeking a compassionate space to explore your feelings, I am here to guide and support you every step of the way. Together, we can work towards healing, personal growth, and the creation of a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
