Sometimes it’s hard to explain what we’re feeling, or even understand what we’re feeling. When life gets overwhelming or confusing, it can raise deep questions about identity, self-worth, and whether healing is even possible. I understand how intimidating it can feel to start therapy in that space, especially with the pressure to have it all figured out.

In my work, art becomes a bridge when words fall short. You don’t need to be artistic or know what to say. I offer a space where you can safely explore your inner world through creative, nonverbal expression at your own pace. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in deep listening and genuine care. I’m here to walk with you through your creative journey and offer steady support along the way.

With time, the process opens up space for clarity, connection, and self-trust. Many begin to feel truly seen and heard. Emotional awareness grows, healing takes root, and new tools emerge that support everyday life, both inside and beyond the therapy space.

Experience: Grace is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Art Therapist with a creative, client-centered approach. I understand that for many, seeking therapy is a daunting process that can be overrun with feelings of doubt. Emotions, including anxiety, sadness, guilt, stress, overwhelmingness, and depression exist on a spectrum, and individuals who seek therapy often question whether their feelings are “deserving” of therapy.

I believe that a culturally-sensitive individualized and integrative approach allows each client’s needs to be met throughout the therapeutic process, collaboratively working towards the unique goals for therapy and this is what I strive to foster. As such, a sense of safety and understanding is my highest priority and I aim to honour the importance of the therapeutic relationship to create their courageous changes.

Life can bring unexpected challenges that affect one’s sense of self, relationships, family dynamics, education, and career. These challenges can leave you feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, and uncertain about your next steps. You might find yourself stuck in self-doubt, overthinking decisions, or struggling with a relentless inner critic. In the midst of it all, reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re used to carrying everything on your own.

I offer a gentle and compassionate space where you can begin to make sense of what you’re going through and feel less alone in the process. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, interpersonal challenges, and difficulties setting boundaries. My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and deeply empathetic. In a space rooted in compassion and collaboration, we will explore new ways of responding to challenges and help you reconnect with what matters most to you. I’m here to support you in moving toward a life that feels grounded, purposeful, and aligned with your values.

Kyla is currently completing her Master of Science in Psychotherapy at McMaster University, where she also earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Social Psychology. She is passionate about offering a well-rounded therapeutic experience, blending her training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with principles from other therapeutic modalities to create a personalized approach for her clients.

Kyla has always had a special passion for working with children and has supported them in various capacities over the years. One of her most rewarding experiences involved designing and facilitating a dance movement therapy program for children aged 5 to 12. The program blended creative expression with therapeutic tools to help address challenges like anxiety, bullying, communication difficulties, and feelings of loneliness. In addition to her work with children, Kyla has volunteered with local community centers, mental health charities, and post-secondary support groups. Through this work, she has gained valuable experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, and school challenges. Most recently, Kyla completed her first practicum at the Mood Disorders Clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, where she co-facilitated emotion regulation therapy groups for those with depressive disorders. These diverse experiences have strengthened her understanding of the unique challenges people face at different stages of life and reinforced her commitment to creating a supportive space for all clients.

She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW). With over 7 years of experience working within the mental health field, she has had the opportunity to engage in grassroots work, both within her community and internationally. This includes working at health clinics, hospitals, facilitating community group therapy work, while providing culturally competent and culturally sensitive care. This work has led her to develop a special interest in working in women’s health, specifically working with women who have experienced sexual trauma and gender-based violence.

Quote: We are all walking each other home.”- Ram Das

This is one of my favourite quotes and I think speaks beautifully to what I have learned doing this work. Human beings all experience so much pain, suffering, hardship, and adversity, yet also, are able to experience deep love, passion, hope and strength, sometimes even experiencing both oppositions at the same time, simultaneously. This work continues to reinforce how resilient humans are, despite each and every one of us experiencing adversity and it is incredibly admirable.

Many individuals and families navigating transitions in their lives feel overwhelmed, isolated, and uncertain about their ability to cope with the changes and challenges in this new season of their lives. Sometimes clients feel overwhelmed by the process of starting therapy. They aren’t sure if it’s going to help, they feel as if they need to be ten steps ahead of where they currently are and they can’t see a way forward.

I use a holistic, evidence-based approaches such as CBT, IPT, narrative therapy, and mindfulness, while also incorporating play therapy with children and attachment-based strategies for families. I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their struggles, build coping skills, and feel understood.

I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment and value the importance of the therapeutic relationship so they can move forward with ease. Together, we work toward greater confidence, connection, and resilience, allowing clients to overcome as they navigate through life’s transitions.

Life’s path is not always straightforward and navigating it can be overwhelming. Sometimes the way we relate to our thoughts, parts of ourselves, others, or our pasts can lead us to feeling stuck in life, out of control, and acting in ways that remove us from the connections and activities that give our lives meaning.

Brandon uses different approaches, or an integration of them, to best accommodate your needs and therapeutic goals: exploring your past experiences, relationships with others and yourself, and building skills which will aid you in healing and achieving your goals.

Brandon strives to create a compassionate and psychologically safe environment, one free of judgement, where you can develop your ability to self-regulate and become your own therapist.

Starting therapy can be intriguing, but the process can also be overwhelming. It is normal to wonder whether therapy will help or even if your therapist will understand you, especially if you are feeling stuck.

I value and tailor evidence-based psychotherapy approaches to fit your individual needs. I see the client as the expert on their life. As I learn from you, you will learn of my expertise. Together, we will make your therapy goals your reality.

Within the safe and judgment-free space created together, we would tune into your present experience - what is distressing, confusing, or even painful?. Then we start to make sense of it - this can look like building awareness of the present, making connections to understand the past, broadening perspectives, and processing emotions. No matter the path we take, you can trust that this is the start to an empowering journey toward healing.

Sometimes we can feel stuck in patterns which feel beyond our control. We react and feel discouraged by circumstances we repeatedly find ourselves in and it seems there is nothing that works, nothing gets better, no one understands.

I utilize a trauma-informed, long-term perspective using methodologies such as Schema therapy to uncover the root causes that perpetuate damaging patterns. Sessions look at embracing challenges as opportunities for learning while understanding the factors that have contributed to our behavior, challenging unhelpful beliefs, and committing to change.

Sessions are a space for reflection and learning, of reconciling the past with the present and choosing directions that work for you, the client.
